I am thinking of cutting the switched/acc power wire at the radio harness, and giving the radio end 12V to see if the head unit powers up. I did try jumping from the constant 12V to the the switched 12V at the radio (to see if it would power up), but I did not cut the switched 12V wire before doing that. I did also check at the factory stereo plug, and also no switched power there, so it's not a case of the splice gone bad at the adapter. I think (?) the first Pioneer unit might (?) be fine, but something went bad with the switched/acc power to the unit. Wipers etc all work with key in 'Acc' position, so I think that circuit is powered OK. Recall I had checked that fuse (#1) and it was fine. Start investigating further and find the 12V 'always on' is there at the plug (goes away if I pull fuse #31), but the 'Accessory switched 12V" never gets 12V no matter what the key position. Thinking OK, I guess it's not the head unit, I plug my original Pioneer back in. I buy another Pioneer, as they all use the same plug at the headunit, so it should be plug and play, no wiring needed. I think OK, dead head unit so I will replace. Checked fuses in interior fuse panel related to radio. Doesn't power up with key on, doesn't respond to any button push. I only noticed that for a minute then it became dead head unit/radio. Then whole display of the head unit went wonky (dim, I think lines across the display). Remove that featureless factory radio and install an aftermarket radio with Axxesss radio replacement interfaces and harnesses. Sometimes didn't display video, and when it did it was dim. ![]() All was good and it worked as it should for about 2 years. I also had them install a backup cam at the same time. CD changer was non-functional, and I wanted nav via AppleCarplay, so about 2 1/2 years ago I had a Pioneer AVH1300NEX head unit installed (by quality audio shop).
